   4. Is nigh to God

   5. Is sure of heaven
      • 1Peter 1:4 - "Reserved in heaven for you"
      • 2Timothy 4:18 - "Preserve me unto His heavenly kingdom"
   6. Waits for Christ and glory
      • Philippians 3:20,21 - "We look for the Saviour"
      • Hebrews 9:28 - "Them that look for Him"
   7. Has God's favor
      • Romans 5:2 - "Rejoice in hope of the glory of God"
      • Ephesians 1:3 - "Blessed us with all spiritual blessings"
2. The unbeliever
   1. Is lost
      • John 3:18 - "He that believeth not is condemned already"
      • 2Corinthians 4:3,4 - "It is hid to them that are lost"
   2. Is dead in sin
      • Ephesians 2:1 - "Were dead in trespasses and sins"
      • Colossians 2:13 - "You, being dead in your sins"
   3. Is a child of Satan
      • John 8:44 - "Ye are of your father the devil"
      • Matthew 13:38 - "Children of the wicked one"
   4. Is far from God
      • Ephesians 2:12 - "Strangers... and without God in the world"
      • Isaiah 59:2 - "Your sins have hid His face from you"
   5. Is sure of hell
      • Revelation 21:8 - "Shall have their part in the lake which burneth"
      • Matthew 18:8,9 - "Cast into everlasting fire"
   6. Waits for death and judgment
      • Hebrews 9:27 - "After this the judgment"
      • Luke 16:22,23 - "The rich man also died... and in hell"
   7. Is under God's wrath
      • John 3:36 - "The wrath of God abideth upon him"
      • Romans 1:18 - "The wrath of God is revealed... against all ungodliness"

      Note carefully the contrast between the blessedness of the believer in Ephesians 2:4-10, and the wretchedness of the unbeliever in Ephesians 2:1-3,12.

      In which of these classes are you? The one certain thing is that you are in one of them: "He that believeth... and he that believeth not" (John 3:18). These, and only these, make up the host of all who are living now or have ever lived. There is no third class of the "pretty good" or of the "partly saved." You are a child of God or a child of the devil.
